Dr. Mark Bassily
Optometrist
Dr. Mark Bassily received his Honours Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) from the University of Guelph in 2015. He then completed his Doctorate of Optometry at the MCPHS University School of Optometry in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 2019.
Throughout his optometric studies, Dr. Bassily was a member of several clubs and committees. Most notably, as a member of the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH), he was selected to travel to Nicaragua to provide eye care to over 4,688 patients from surrounding villages. This was an unforgettable experience that has continued his interest in providing eye care to those in underprivileged areas. Dr. Bassily hopes to continue overseas mission trips throughout his career.
During his clinical externships, Dr. Bassily had the opportunity to work in clinics that specialized in pediatric low vision treatments, as well as conditions involving posterior segment disorders. He also worked with several ophthalmologists in southern Florida, where he gained exposure to a variety of ocular procedures, including providing pre and post-operative care.
